We live in a society that places greater value on masculine qualities such as "doing", action, productivity, and logic. When we focus more on these qualities the energy within our body travels upwards towards our shoulders and head. In turn, we naturally lose sensitivity to our feminine energy which is often carried in the lower parts of out body including our heart and womb-space.
Too much masculine energy (energy in the head) looks like:
- struggling to make decisions,
- controlling behaviour,
- being influenced by other people and lacking grounding in your own truth,
- feeling a lack of pleasure or inability to feel pleasure,
- constantly overthinking,
- feeling “numb”,
- addictions to binging on food, alcohol, excessive shopping, social media,
- comparing yourself to others,
- finding it hard to express yourself or speak from your heart,
- stress, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed or burnt out.
This, of course, is happening at a subconscious level so we aren’t normally aware of how shut off we are to our bodies.
